Good news arrives for Civic Volunteers and Village Police Volunteers as the State Finance Department's announcement from March 2023 now comes into effect. As per Nabanna sources, the ad hoc bonus for these personnel has been increased from ₹5,300 to ₹6,000 for the financial year 2023-24.
This hike benefits Kolkata Police, State Police Civic Volunteers, and Village Police Volunteers alike. The move follows Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's government's announcement earlier this year to improve the overall benefits for civic volunteers.
In the February budget presentation, Finance Minister Chandrima Bhattacharya stated that each civic volunteer would receive an additional ₹1,000 in salary compared to the previous year. The bonus increment solidifies the government's commitment to supporting these vital forces in the state's security framework.
